“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.” Psalm 139:1-3
God knows everything about me, and still He loves me.
He sees the darkest thought of your heart, and still He loves you.
As we roll out of bed each morning and fall back into it each night, there He is, listening to our distracted chatter at breakfast, hearing the encouraging words we share over the water cooler at work, watching the fight we start on our way to church. Even then, God is near, present in the thick of today’s struggle, presiding over yesterday’s triumph.
God knows what thrills us and terrifies us — and He cares about both. He traces the path of every tear, counts every hair, considers every dream. He knows our hearts and wants us to know His, the soft thumping sound and strength of it.God knows our hearts and wants us to know His Click To Tweet
So He stretched out His arms on a cross to save us. He holds out His hand to pull us close, to intertwine His fingers with ours and just enjoy us.
For who we are.
Lord, You are so close. So personal. I praise you as the God who sees me. You know every hidden thought and selfish act and love me anyway. Thank You for wanting to know me, for sharing Your heart and keeping Your arms open. When I feel unworthy, You invite me to come to You without fear of rejection, reproof, or condemnation. Every time.
Lord, You are my intimate Friend with whom I can share my deepest secrets and most vulnerable dreams. Thank you for loving me, even as I am.
